November 20th – Dreamer’s first day of true colt starting

Dreamer did great today. Nothing new is introduced. For the past two years we’ve led up to this moment. He’s gone on small walks. He’s done all of the these things in one fashion or another. Today we put them all together in a shorter amount of time.
Tasks
- Turnout catch – B minus, he left once but really just walking away. Caught easy enough after
- Soft lunge both directions – A plus
- Sidling – still swinging his hip out but a few successes of sidling right up to the platform
- Over head work – a bit of a concern, but never wanting to leave
- Cinch touching, body patting, leaning over his back – all fine
- Jumping beside him – slight pull aways and leaves, but never high energy, just a stepping away decision making to leave
- Walk about with the garbage bin, inspected a new toddler yard toy, motorcycles – slightly high energy but not bad, alert, was really more worried about eating grass than the things around him
- Grooming – impatience to eat the pellets on the ground, general irritated boredom at being at the rail
- Time: 45 minutes
